You have such a clear way of putting emotions into words. Thanks for that and it was indeed an amazing day. Very happy for you

Congratulations on the launch of the book. So proud of you. You look gorgeous MashaAllāh. My friend, this line stopped me: "the silence opened." That is the whole architecture of what a book can do, not just speak outward, but reach backward, into rooms that had been sealed for years.

The image of your parents' silence as something held the way you hold something fragile you are afraid to examine. I felt that in the chest. And then a book arrives, and suddenly there is language for the water. That is not a small thing. That is the real work of poetry doing what nothing else can.

You standing there in your Pashtun dress, in everything you had survived, saying this is what it looked like from the inside, that is what courage actually looks like. Not the loud kind. The kind that shows up adorned and rooted and refuses to dress down for its own survival.

Congratulations on Sugar Pill. May it keep reaching across tables and years. Ameen. Insha'Allāh. 😍🤩🥳🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️🫶🏻✨️

Saira, this means more to me than I can put into words. You saw the dress and knew what it meant to choose it. You saw the silence and knew it wasn't emptiness — it was weight. That is the thing about being seen by someone who also writes from the inside. There is nowhere to hide and I didn't want to.

Thank you for being in my corner since before this book had a name. MashaAllah for you, always. ❤️✨

My pleasure. There is nowhere to hide and I didn't want to. I keep returning to that line. Because that is the choice, isn't it. Not just to survive, but to be fully visible inside the survival. To walk into a room in colour and adornment and say. I am not diminishing this for anyone's comfort. That takes something most people never find.

And what you said about being seen by someone who also writes from the inside, yes. That is the particular gift of this community. We do not have to translate ourselves for each other. The language is already shared.

Thank you for letting me witness this moment, even from a distance. Sugar Pill is in the world now. That is permanent. Nothing takes that back.

Always in your corner. Always. So proud of you. ❤️✨️🫶🏻
